Afghan tribes express support for Khost's new governor - AIP.

Peshawar, 31 March: The tribal leaders in Khost [eastern Afghan Province] held a meeting in support of the new governor today.

A leader of Tanay tribe, Ghazi Nawaz Tanay, told Afghan Islamic Press [AIP] that the leaders of Khost's 14 tribes held a meeting in support of the new governor today. He says: "Each of the tribal leaders approved the new governor. They also announced their support for the Loya Jerga".

He added: "At the meeting, they called on the former king to return to the country. The meeting also decided that all armed groups should leave the town of Khost".
