SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya-In the early 1980s, Alfonso Namuhje Jr., a pioneer producer of citrus and orange fruits in Nueva Vizcaya, convinced his fellow Ifugao farmers to produce citrus and oranges to improve their income in the upland town of Kasibu, some 50 km from here.
His efforts paid off as more and more citrus and orange farmers ventured into the trade, as the fruit proved to be a high-value commercial crop.
