NEW YORK -- Vivendi Universal Monday said revenue for all its assets, including subsid Vivendi Environment, rose 12% in the first quarter to 13.7 billion euros ($12.4 billion) with a huge net loss due to a one-time accounting charge.
The news, which expands on its latest results, comes as Vivendi investigates voting irregularities at its shareholders' meeting last week and reports circulate that the company is considering dumping its loss-making Internet assets, which include Vizzavi, Scoot and iFrance.
Vivendi Environment, involved in water utilities, waste management and transportation, makes up about half of the conglom's business. Viv U reported showbiz results separately last week.
