Joanne Kozberg has resigned her post as president of the Music Center of Los Angeles County, but will remain on board until a replacement is hired.
Kozberg, who joined the Music Center in February 1999, said she had achieved the goal of creating a structurally intergrated institution and wants to hand the reins to an individual who can elevate the Music Center artistically. "Such a leader should be able to capitalize on the unique moment in 2003 when so much attention will be focused on Los Angeles with the opening of the Disney Concert hall," she said. "This is the appropriate time for me to bring new balance to my life, enabling me to concentrate on my other important roles, chief among which is as a member of the University of California Board of Regents." Kozberg's 12-year term as a regent ends in 2010.
