Baku, 21 February, Trend correspondent F. Kazimov: Azerbaijan's positive balance of foreign trade in 2001 stood at 883.4m dollars, whereas its foreign trade turnover constituted 3.74bn dollars, Trend news agency has quoted the State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan traded with 123 countries and its exports and imports in 2001 were 2.3bn and 1.4bn dollars respectively. Exports were 1.6 times more than imports.

The volume of foreign trade increased by 28.4 per cent compared with the previous year. During the same period exports increased by 32.6 per cent and imports by 22.1 per cent. Private companies …
