Snow Brand Foods staff face tough job market.
With hundreds of Snow Brand Foods Co. workers set to lose their jobs in Saitama Prefecture, the prefectural government and the Saitama Labor Bureau opened an employment center Monday offering consultation services for job hunters.
The Tokyo-based Snow Brand Foods, reeling after a string of meat relabeling revelations, will on March 10 release 1,000 full- and part-time workers from three factories and six outlets across the country.
The heaviest-hit prefecture is Saitama, where 510 employees at the firm's Kasukabe factory will find themselves jobless.
