Gov't, ADB in talks for online power spot market funding need.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is in talks with government for a $20-million to $50-million loan to fund the establishment of an online electricity spot market.

"We're in discussions with the DoE (Department of Energy), DoF (Department of Finance) and the ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission), Napocor (National Power Corp.) for that loan which will fund the creation of the full-scale spot market," acting ADB Philippine country director Richard S. Ondrik said in a recent interview at his office.
