Tanzania: Africans can solve own problems, says president.

African countries are capable of solving their own political problems so long as they have the determination and political will.

This was said by President Benjamin Mkapa yesterday in Dodoma when addressing the parliament.

In a speech which was also meant to be his monthly address to the nation, the president said that the accord reached by CCM [ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi] and CUF [opposition Civic United Front] on the political crisis in Zanzibar bears testimony to this.
