Benq projects revenue at NT$170 billion this year.

Taipei, Jan. 31, 2002 (CENS)--Benq Corp. projected that it and its affiliates would have combined revenue of about NT$170 billion (US$4.85 billion at US$1:NT$35) this year, or 49.12% more than last year's NT$113.2 billion (US$3.23 billion). Company chairman K.Y. Lee issued the projection yesterday during a visit by President Chen Shui-bian to his company's flat-panel business, AU Optronics Corp. Lee said that AU Optronics, created by the merger of Acer Display Technologies Inc. and UNIPAC Optoelectronics Corp., will spend NT$75 billion (US$2.14 billion) over the next three years on research and expansions, including the construction of a sixth-generation thin-film transistor …
