Mazda is one of those niche-like manufacturers that at times has set us to scratching our heads. We've always at the very least liked what it does. More frequently we've wished it had a legitimate rival to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Or that people would automatically include a Protege on their lists when shopping the Corolla, Civic and Focus. And just when did Mazda as a whole get jammed into a niche? That's gotta' hurt.
