Ignore the psychographic-inspired name for a second, the intensely youth-oriented marketing campaign and all its ``active lifestyle'' overtures (middle-age couch potatoes need not apply). Underneath all that superficial marketing muckety-muck sits a genuinely fun and useful vehicle, particularly in its less-powerful 130-horsepower, front-drive, manual form. The GT, with its 180-horse screaming-mimi of an engine, simply assaults the senses in a none-too-friendly way. The shift-it-yourself base Vibe makes tossing its tall frame around enjoyable, and its hard-plastic cargo hold makes it the perfect Home Depot-mobile (tie downs recommended). We hope more than just the green-haired snowboarding set will check out the Vibe. Dude.
