WPP Group has ended its hunt for a replacement for Brian Brooks with the appointment of Beth Axelrod, a principal at McKinsey & Company, as its chief talent officer.
Axelrod will be responsible for the recruitment, development and retention of WPP's staff worldwide. But, unlike her predecessor, she has not been given a position on the WPP board in the short term.
Her brief is to work closely with WPP's operating companies to create disciplined personnel management practices and build an environment that helps people to flourish.
