SW Bell's man in Washington testing foreign waters

When Southwestern Bell Corp. officials are looking for support on issues involving international trade or federal regulation of the telecommunication industry, they call Horace Wilkins Jr.

As vice president of government and industry affairs for Southwestern Bell Corp. Washington, Wilkins has been the company's main representative since July. It is Wilkins' job to represent the corporation and its subsidiaries in regulatory and legislative matters before Congress, the Federal Communications Commission and other federal agencies. He also represents Bell in industry forums and trade associations.
