Cyber Scandal
Hey, anyone want to ``run'' Daewoo?
There are frauds and then there's Robert Klinger who, we must admit, takes the automotive cake. ``Klinger,'' or whoever he really is, said he was the CEO of a European import car company. Actually he said he was BMW's North American chief. Klinger offered to post diary entries for MSN's online Slate magazine (http://slate.msn.com/?id=2063114). He actually put a couple up for scrutiny.
Following two days of fairly thorough entries, online readers became suspicious. They tried to find more about ``Klinger.'' It was then they learned the very capable and entertaining Mr. Tom Purvis runs BMW North America.
Mr. Klinger, we know Tom Purvis. We like Tom Purvis. You are no Tom Purvis.
