1902 MAR 27 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Nine new cases of measles have been confirmed in London, raising concerns that many parents are ignoring a government appeal to use the standard children's vaccine.

The new cases, reported by local health officials, brought to 20 the number of confirmed measles victims in an area of south London where many families continue to doubt the safety of the measles, mumps and rubella inoculation that is required, with little fuss, in 90 other countries.

There are now a total of 53 suspected or confirmed cases of measles in the Lambeth area of London and 12 in northeast England, officials said, prompting some to call it worst the outbreak of the illness in Britain in years.
