Porsche's PSM, or Porsche Stability Management, has prevented untold numbers of would-be whirligigs. (Think of that wonderfully sphincter-twitching maneuver you found yourself performing the last time you lifted going hard into a corner, and you'll get the drift.) Available on the Boxster S, PSM uses sensors that monitor speed, steering angle, yaw and lateral acceleration. If it detects any under- or oversteer, it will pulse individual brakes to pull the car back in line. PSM will even decrease engine torque if it feels things getting too squirrelly. Thankfully, however, PSM doesn't get in the way of actually driving the car the way a Porsche wants to be driven. But when driving hard turns into driving stupid, it's nice to know it's there.
