Pity the poor Ferrari owners. Sure, many of them live in parts of the country where they can drive their stallions year-round, but what of those unfortunates who live in colder climates? Shouldn't they have a place to exercise and display their bella machinas in the dead of winter? Thankfully, Cavallino magazine has put together an annual January event where the tifosi can give free rein to their cars on the racetrack and display their shining steeds in a properly elegant setting.

The Palm Beach Cavallino Classic is a week-long gathering of the Ferrari faithful that has something for everyone, starting simply with the locale. The architecture is inspiring, the mansions are amazing and the ambience drips wealth. This year, many of the entrants arrived in time for the Jet Preview at Palm Beach International Airport. Picture a colorful sunset as backdrop, and dozens of Ferraris lined up in front of Jet Aviation's hangars with Lear, Falcon and Gulfstream jets available for tours and inspections.

If you're asking yourself what jet aircraft have to do with Ferraris, consider the obvious connection: speed. Something easily satisfied at Moroso Motorsports Park where Brian Redman, Bill Adams, Derek Bell and Justin Bell provided personal instruction to help drivers shake off winter's cobwebs. The war cries of screaming 12-cylinders, piercing V8s, and even six- and four-cylinder Ferrari powerplants greeted spectators as the gates opened.
