2002 MAR 6 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A controversy over the safety of vaccinations for childhood diseases grew as new cases of measles in England and Wales were reported February 6, 2002, and British Prime Minister Tony Blair insisted the health service's three-in-one immunization was best.
"If anybody has any doubts, the full evidence is available and can be given to any parent who wants it," Blair declared. "The evidence it is better to do it in this way comes from right round the world, not just this country, but from 90 different countries."
Blair has said before that he believes there is "overwhelming" evidence that the combined measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR, vaccine is safe. Britain's national health system recommends all children get the shot. ...
