The newly created Cancer Research UK -- which claims to be Britain's biggest charity -- has appointed Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO to handle its account, backed by a reported 5 million [pound sterling] budget.
The operation was formed through a merger of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, an existing AMV client, and Cancer Research.
The capture of the combined account follows AMV's Three Little Girls campaign for the Imperial Cancer Re search Fund, which won a silver Lion at Cannes.
The agency also has extensive experience in the sector, having spent 18 years producing anti-smoking initiatives. It is behind the current government campaign aimed at cutting the annual 120,000 smoking-related deaths.
