CROWDS attending the prayer rallies of the El Shaddai charismatic movement are thinning out because of the involvement of its founder Mike Velarde in politics, according to a spokesperson of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

"The movement has been affected. They noticed a change in the numbers, so they are reassessing" their position, Msgr. Hernando Coronel yesterday said.

The group meets at the grounds of the Philippine International Convention Center on Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City every Saturday.
