LIVING STANDARDS OF OLDER NEW ZEALANDERS

A series of studies on the living standards of older New Zealanders was commissioned in 1999 by the Super 2000 Taskforce, and later taken over by the New Zealand Ministry of Social Policy. This seminar reported on the findings of the surveys, and their innovative methodology for measuring living standards. When the reports on the surveys were launched in Wellington in July they attracted considerable media coverage, and widely divergent interpretations. …
