Steven Francis first signed up for college courses the summer after he completed eighth-grade.

This spring, when he receives his high school diploma, Francis will have earned about 120 college credits, enough for two associate degrees and then some.

The 17-year-old downplays the achievement; he likes school, he said. That's the reason he's taken extra classes at the Community College of Southern Nevada in the summer and at night during the last four years.
