Singapore, 14 January: Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Monday [14 January] concluding additional free-trade agreements with Southeast Asian countries to follow up the newly concluded pact with Singapore should be considered only after Japan's relations with the nations mature.

"Japan wants to cooperate not only with Singapore, but with members of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) in as wide-ranging a way as possible," the premier told a news conference at a Singapore hotel.
