2002 FEB 21 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A study in the February issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology found that Black adolescents were more likely than other groups to have a high rate of unintended pregnancy, and that the method of contraception used was a key factor.

The research showed that Black teens used condoms more often than oral contraceptives, which are far more effective at preventing pregnancy. The study suggests that condom use by Black teens may be more related to a culture-specific avoidance of oral contraceptives due to concerns ...
