US unlikely to approve visa for Misuari.

The United States embassy in Manila yesterday said it is unlikely that fugitive Muslim leader Nur Misuari will be granted a US visa.

Mr. Misuari, in detention in Malaysia, has reportedly asked Kuala Lumpur to allow him and his supporters to apply for visitor's visa. The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) leader was said to have been invited to attend an Islamic conference and to conduct a series of lectures in the US.

A source in the embassy said the US government would not allow Mr. Misuari to enter America because his case is a high-profile and politically charged one.
