Iran: Court sentences student leader to 12 months in jail.

Tehran, 29 December. A Tehran court has sentenced student leader Ali Afshari to 12 months in jail only shortly after his release from more than one year temporary imprisonment, press said Saturday [29 December].

The Persian daily Resalat said that the Revolution Court had given a six-month jail [sentence] to Afshari on charge of propagating against the Islamic republic and another six-month imprisonment for illegal activities at the time of the 1999 unrest in the Tehran University hostel.
