Bratislava, 30 December: Five major Slovak banks announced Sunday [30 December] their preparedness to offer euro notes and coins to their clients as soon as the euro becomes the eurozone's legal tender on 1 January. Since the banks are expecting an increasing demand for the first issue of the euro notes and coins, the volume of the banks' foreign currency reserves is expected to be slightly higher than in the previous years.
