2002 FEB 14 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- ProteEx, Inc., will present positive results of proteomic studies to develop high-resolution breast cancer diagnostics in collaboration with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, at the 34th Annual Oak Ridge Conference on "Cancer Detection and Monitoring - The Next Generation of Tools" which will take place in La Jolla, California, April 25-26.

The study, the subject of a ProteEx pending patent, involves proteomic analysis of breast nipple aspirate fluid protein patterns from patients diagnosed with breast cancer, from both the cancerous and noncancerous breasts and the serum from the same patients.

"We believe that this study of personalized proteomics is extremely exciting," said Henry M. Kuerer, MD, PhD, assistant professor of surgery and director of breast surgical oncology training program, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
