Cell-Matrix Acquisition Completed.(Brief Article)
2002 FEB 13 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- CancerVax Corp. has completed its acquisition of Cell-Matrix, Inc., a privately held, development stage biotechnology company with intellectual property, technology, and product candidates in the field of angiogenesis.
The acquisition of Cell-Matrix, which will be retained as a wholly owned subsidiary of CancerVax, was accomplished through a merger with a new, wholly owned subsidiary of CancerVax for a combination of stock and assumption of debt. The Company believes that Cell-Matrix's technology may be synergistic with CancerVax's current work in cancer immunotherapy and with chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of cancer.
