Chairwoman of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze has denied allegations that she made a deal with the Georgian Prosecutor-General to get her husband, Chief Military Prosecutor Badri Bitsadze, appointed as first deputy prosecutor-general. Burjanadze said she could not be embarrassed by the appointment because Bitsadze had worked in senior posts for years and the latest appointment was no giant step in his career. She said the allegations came from the forces against whom Bitsadze fought while in his previous posts. The following is an excerpt from report by Georgian TV on 13 December:
