Niki Taylor: model of strength. (fun fearless females 2002).(Brief Article)(Interview)
Niki Taylor has seen more than her share of tough times. The 26-year-old beauty lost her sister, budding model Krissy, to complications from asthma six years ago; and in 1996, she divorced football player Matt Martinez, the father of her 7-year-old twin sons.
But last April, her strength was again put to the test when her friend James Renegar lost control of his car and smashed into a pole. Niki, who was a front-seat passenger, suffered life-threatening liver damage.
After spending several months in the hospital and enduring more than 40 surgical procedures, the courageous catwalker is almost fully recovered from the accident and gearing up to get back in front of the camera. She surely gives a whole new meaning to the word supermodel.
You've been on the cover of 280 magazines, including Cosmo, of course. Are there any modeling jobs out there that you're still hoping to book?
I have always wanted to be on the covers of Sports Illustrated and Rolling Stone. Maybe one day.
