WASHINGTON The collapse of energy brokerage giant Enron has eroded confidence within the electricity and natural gas industries, experts agree, but has not yet disrupted prices at home.

Sen. Jeff Bingaman, a Silver City Democrat, this morning convened a hearing of his Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to explore whether the largest bankruptcy in United States history will have lasting impact upon America, the world's largest energy manufacturer and consumer.
