Kids don't always get sick between 9 and 5.
And pediatricians don't keep late hours to cope with the bumps, bruises and sniffles that happen after closing time. So Dr. Bill Hawk is opening After Hours Pediatrics, which will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
"The biggest thing for families is they pick the kids up at day care, and they're sniffling or sick. But the doctor's office is closed," he says. "Right now, those folks are ending up in the emergency room or urgent care, and they can't see a pediatrician."
