Yesterday's news has turned into a profitable venture for a Moncton, N.B. company.
Canbrands International Ltd. has developed a process through which old newspapers are turned into odor-suppressing cat litter. The company markets the cat litter under the name Yesterday's News. Formed in 1983 as Celltech International Ltd., Canbrands was purchased and renamed in 1987 by John Austin (then of Moncton and now of Toronto), business partner Dennis Clemons and the investment division of the Federal Business Development Bank (FBDB).
