* Highs: The new T-Bird became available. The Forty-Nine may become a reality. Ford finally got a Ford to run the place again. It was fantastic to see the 1901 racer on Pebble Beach, but what I enjoyed the most was the look on Edsel's face, better yet the look on John Force's face, during the reenactment of the Oct. 10, 1901 Ford vs. Winton race. They had a ball. Lows: The Firestone-Ford fiasco. The disarray at CART was terrible.

* For me, my automotive low point was when my son totaled my 15-year-old (restored) BMW 325 convertible. The high point, when I replaced it with an M Roadster. My son was fine but no longer has access to my car.
