NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Atlanta-based Home Depot Inc. is reducing the number of stores kept open around the clock because of low customer demand and difficulties in overnight staffing.
Affected locally is the North Richland Hills store on Northeast Loop 820, which made the change Oct. 1. The store is now open from 5 am to midnight Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m on Sunday.
The only remaining 24-hour Home Depot store in the Metroplex is in Mesquite.
Nationwide, Home Depot has 37 stores that are open 24 hours, a dramatic decline from the "several hundred" just one year ago, said Shelley Schumaker, spokeswoman for Home Depot. Experimental …
