Troon Golf will develop three golf courses as part of a multibillion resort project on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic.

The Scottsdale company is in negotiation with developer Ricardo Hazoury, president of Grupo del Caribe, to also be the long-term manager of the 54-hole project.

Troon's executives are not disclosing the financial details of the deal. While there are several barometers that could be used to measure its size, from the number of holes to cost, Troon's executive vice president of acquisition and development, Tim Schantz, said "this is a big deal on all accounts."
