In a brief, recorded announcement Wednesday, KKOB morning host Larry Ahrens confirmed his unpaid leave of absence from the castle of conservative chatter. Hearing that, liberal drivers across the state eased the white-knuckled grip on their Volvo steering wheels.

No longer would they silently seethe at Ahrens' uninformed spouting of the Limbaugh line in between his on-air shilling for eye doctors and mattress makers.
