2002 JAN 10 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has approved the patent "Penetration Enhancing and Irritation Reducing Systems" covering methods of topically administering sex hormones, including testosterone and estradiol, using Cellegy Pharmaceuticals' proprietary gel formulation.
Cellegy's permeation enhancer technology is the basis for its topical transdermal testosterone gel products, Tostrex and Tostrelle, which are currently in clinical development. In addition to the issued United States patent, Cellegy has related patent applications pending in other major markets worldwide, including Europe and Japan.
