The story so far: Maggie embarked on a whirlwind series of dates, but the only guy that showed any real potential, Sebastien (the French hottie), didn't respond to her E-mail.
tuesday
Finally had the date w/Phillip, the lawyer my guitarist set me up with. Was not good.
He was nice enough, but not my type at all. He was only about an inch shorter than me, but of course, I happened to be wearing my highest platforms, so I was a gigantic Nicole to his tiny Tom. He also resembled my closest gay friend from college. Not exactly a turn-on. Couldn't tell if he had a hearing problem or was just easily excitable, b/c everything he said sounded like it ended in an exclamation point! I wouldn't have minded so much except that we were in a cozy restaurant, so not only did the couples next to us hear every word he shouted at me, but so did the ones at the table next to them. Almost felt like apologizing for disrupting their romantic dinners-especially when he broke out into his heinous hyena laugh.
Fortunately, had planned for Olya to ring me up and give me an option to get out of after-dinner drinks. My cell rang right on cue-God bless her-so I told P. that there was an emergency at the mixing studio and the band needed me there, and bolted. Felt bad for telling a lie, but decided to look at it this way: would have felt worse enduring another one of his ear-splitting cackles.
wednesday
Tonight I'm going to a black-tie charity event with Jim, aka the dancing-challenged venture capitalist my friend Adrienne had set me up with.
