The highest priorities for a facility manager are the health and safety of the occupants of the facility. Fire detection systems and emergency lighting, are two obvious features that remind people of the constant vigilance of efforts to protect users of facilities However, few people give thought to the safety of the water supply and the measures taken to assure purity.

Some of the drops of water in your cup of coffee evaporated from a distant ocean and fell to earth and settled into an aquifer several thousand years ago. Yesterday it was. pumped out of the ground, then treated and pumped to your facility. Although other drops took different routes into the public water supply, all water arrived at your home or business fit for human consumption. The production and delivery of water for your use is a highly regulated, sophisticated and equipment-intensive industry.
