After a memorable year of rolling blackouts, we thought it would be fitting to end 2001 with the List of the Largest Electrical Contractors in the Bay Area.

Rosendin Electric is the largest electrical contractors in the Bay Area The company has provided electrical services to some of the most expensive projects in the region in recent years including Pac Bell Park and the Gap's San Francisco headquarters.

Led by President Tom Sorley, Rosendin reported revenues of $175 million for the fiscal year 2000. Dynalectric Co. is the second largest electrical contractor in the Bay Area with roughly $80 million in local revenue last year. The company's portfolio includes work at 199 Fremont and 1045 Mission streets in San Francisco. President David Griffy manages Dynalectric Co.

Metropolitan Electrical Construction is the third largest contractor in the Bay Area Led by Nick Dutto, the San Francisco-based company focuses 100 percent on commercial projects and reported $65 million in local revenue last year. Metropolitan's recent projects include San Francisco's. Hilton Towers, 350 Rhode Island and Embarcadero Four.

W. Bradley Electric scored a fourth place ranking on the List with $57 million in revenue. The Novato-based company reported major projects in the North Bay, particularly the San Rafael Corporate Center and Greenpoint Mortgage in Novato.

Edward W. Scott Electric Co. completes the top five. The San Francisco company has worked on several major projects including Catellus Village at San Francisco State University, Lawrence Lab in. Livermore and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.

Edward W. Scott Electric is one of the larger employers on the List with 245 electricians in the Bay Area.

Finally, wrapping up the numbers, the 19 companies that made this week's List generated approximately $630 million in local revenue and employ more than 2,700 electricians in the Bay Area.
