The Occupational Safety and Health Administration agreed not to cite employers for violations of its new record-keeping rule for the first 120 days of 2002, provided employers make a good faith effort to track workplace injures.
The rule goes into effect Jan. 1.
The agreement was part of a settlement OSHA reached with the National Association of Manufacturers, which had filed a lawsuit challenging the agency's record-keeping rule.
