Six area banks have jointly contributed $1.5 million to support the new baseball field under construction in Washington near Interstate 70.

That's about one-fourth of the total cost of $6.1 million for the Washington County facility.

The banks are: Charleroi Federal SavingsBank, Community Bank, Dollar Bank, Steel Valley Bank, Washington Federal Savings Bank and Wheeling National Bank.
