Prompted by the widespread economic impact of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., the U.S. Small Business Administration has widened access to Economic Injury Disaster loans to small businesses nationwide.

Previously, only businesses located in New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia and portions of Virginia were eligible for disaster loan assistance.
