2001 DEC 19 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Henry Schein, Inc., (HSIC) has obtained new inventory and will be making 3 million additional doses of flu vaccine immediately available for the remainder of the U.S. influenza season.
The company also said that it has a special customer service phone number to help doctors and other health professionals who have recently not been able to get vaccine supplies to care for their patients.
"We have read news reports of spot shortages and shipment delays of flu vaccine in different parts of the country and we are committed to making sure this new inventory of vaccine is distributed quickly to doctors who need it," said Michael Racioppi, President of Henry Schein's Medical Group.
To underscore the importance of flu vaccine to the nation's health at this time, Racioppi pointed to the CDC's "Influenza Vaccine Bulletin Number 10" issued November 27, 2001.
