Do the words on this page appear fuzzy or unclear? For most of you, the answer is no. The words aren't fuzzy; they're clear.

But some people can't see clearly. Their eyes can't focus as well as the eyes of other people. Their world appears fuzzy unless they wear glasses.

Some people need to wear glasses only for reading or seeing things close up. Those people are what doctors call farsighted; they can see faraway objects clearly but close objects appear fuzzy.

Other people need glasses only for seeing things far away. Those people are nearsighted; they can see close objects clearly, but faraway objects appear fuzzy.
