ATLANTA _ The Fighting Irish apparently have found their Irishman.

According to several reports, Georgia Tech's George O'Leary has been offered the Notre Dame job and could be the Irish's new coach as early as Monday.

ESPN.com and the New England Cable News Network both reported Saturday that O'Leary has accepted the job in principle, and that an announcement could come within 48 hours after the contractual details had been worked out.

Attempts to reach O'Leary late Saturday night were unsuccessful and Tech athletics director Dave Braine did not return a phone message left at his home.
