CHICAGO _ The 16,113 jubilant fans in the United Center gave Eric Daze enough hats to stock a haberdashery Friday night when the left wing led the Blackhawks to a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.
His hat trick made the difference in a game that was very close on the scoreboard but very one-sided on the ice.
"It doesn't surprise me," said coach Brian Sutter, on Daze's contributions to the Hawks' third straight win. "He is a young man. He has a great career ahead of him.
"It's a tough league to play in and he pays the price."
