Any rock can change into another kind of rock if certain things happen to it. These changes may even repeat themselves in a cycle. The rock cycle has no starting point. The changes happen again and again over millions of years. All of Earth's rocks are formed somewhere in those cycles of changes.
Volcano Melted rock shoots out of Earth's crust.
Weathering Ice, rain, wind, arid water wear rocks away.
Transport Streams and rivers carry rock pieces.
Deposition Rivers drop sediments (dirt and sand) into valleys, beaches, and the ocean floor.
Igneous Rock Magma that has cooled into rock on or under Earth's crust
Magma Hot, melted rock inside Earth
